043 Stick to acting

Break a leg.

This week’s theme was suggested by Andy from Circles of Concrete who was hoping that we might dig very deep into our collections and find a selection of songs made by actors. It might be a good thing that it’s a slightly shorter podcast than normal. Enough said.

I actually sorta like the Orson Well’s one.

Oh…my…god…that Bilbo Baggins song is now an earworm. Christ FiL, I can’t get it out of my head! Arrrgh! And yet the William Shatner one doesn’t get rid of it either. Marcie where did you find that song? It’s craptacularly creepy.

I’m relieved that the Bridget Bardot “Bonny and Clyde” song isn’t on here.

Very unique podcast!

Taste wars of 2107! Do we HAVE to wait that long, FiL?

Misogyny and William Shatner, Marcy? Ya think? Think that’s why Kirk had a new red-suited crew member every week?

This podcast was dreadfully, deliciously bad!

Excellent job by everyone this week! Leonard Nimoy AND William Shatner?? Too much!

Tim, I really liked the Orson Welles.

Nat, 0:59 was as far as I could go :)

Is it sad if Keanu Reeves has more emotion in his singing than his acting?

I have to admit, I didn’t listen to this one. I skipped through the songs. Most of them made my ears hurt.

This is awesome! Excellent concept. I haven’t heard any of these before except the Spock track. Spock… I mean Leonard Nimoy, is actually a pretty good singer and his song is f**n’ BAD ASS!!!! (I really don’t get why people are putting it down.) Everyone should check out the video to it on YouTube - one of the best videos ever made in the history of mankind! It’s got HOT chicks and very some sexy dancing in it! Nimoy is a friggin’ musical genius! Seriously! He should be elected as president of the U.N. or something. (Funny intro there, FiL!)

The Orson Welles track is really poignant. It made me want to cry… “I don’t want to get old and die dammit!!!”

Wow. I am still in pain from Me And Bobby McGee - I was trapped, unable to reach the computer. Marcy may get the prize, though. And Leonard Nemoy has to live with his conscious, so I suppose that is fair. Great job, CPers!

And the Heath Park media department takeover of the contrast podcast is going according to play.

That’s ‘plan’ not ‘play’, obviously. Tutu Vicar is my ‘bishop’, as it were.

I’ve just tacked a late entry onto the end of the podcast .. it was so good I had to include it!

I will listen again, if only to hear Orson Welles speak the word “shit.” And now, I guess, to hear an extra song!

i dug the orson welles, for sure. waffles–”they don’t make you want to throw up” is high praise, indeed! sorry, ZB, couldn’t take that song. andy–the Dogstar was actually listenable. ;-) fil–what can i say? i think i like the chorus best, altho that bari sax (?) solo near the end was pretty hot, too. : ) and nat, that was just cruel!

cindy–i forgot to say “craptacularly creepy” is one of the best descriptions i’ve ever heard!

@MJRC - It’s a lot more than I can say for most of the rest of the show.

This has nothing to do with this show, but I love the fact that there are too many submissions for the next one.

I have to admit, i stopped listening once Dogstar came on, it was too much.
Altho i’m gonna give it another go before the days out !!
X Rated is gonna be fun.
