064 Midwinter

For lots of us it is the middle of the summer but for Alex from Solid Sea and Southern Sky, who lives in the Antarctic, it is the middle of the winter. In a show of solidarity we have made a mix of songs to help him through the dark and cold days. You might like it too.

Deek - Bizarre Inc. are the best thing ever i was lovin it. It’s good music to cook dinner to !!! I’m gonna get ya yes i am !!! Yeah !!! ok must calm down.

ZB - I’ve always wondered what Eyeless in Gaza sound like and now i know, feckin creppy !!! I liked tho

Nat - Frank Zappa is always appreciated, whats his best album? He has about 120000 right…

What else, yeah every track was bloody great, i shall end this post now…

i love it when ross leaves a comment coz he GETS SO DANG EXCITED!!!! : ) i haven’t listened to it yet and now i can’t wait.

This podcast went so fast! I really enjoyed it. Hopefully, it was appreciated on the bottom of the planet as much as it was in the upper-middle-sorta-westish part.

Excellent stuff everyone, some nicely tangential and inappropriate choices, and a bit of conceptual continuity from FiL. I think I would have been very literal and gone for something like ‘It’s A Dark Day’ by the Rev. Horton Heat, but that’s just me.

A good introduction to Frank Zappa would be this bargain-priced Best Of, previously issued under the title Strictly Commercial, which will give you an idea of where to start with the proper albums!

Why thank you kind sir, i shall check that out !!

Cheers Chris !!!

Thanks guys, I really enjoyed listening to that, as did everyone else on the base.

I LOVE the Nick Cave song. Damn, that’s some good stuff. Thanks, Sid.
