ZB: That has got to be the nastiest band name I have EVER seen.
Sid: LOVE Gang of Four!
Nat: The Bruce Cockburn song is gorgeous! I love that. Thanks for introducing me to it.
Lusty bunch of songs, everybody! Good job.

Mr. Thrub = FiL? LOL! You guys are hilarious.

Always loved that Leon Haywood song, Dirk, even though it’s a near match for “Smiling Faces SOmetimes” by Undisupted Truth. (groans from the chick with a gallbladder attack instead of “can you dig it, can you dig it?”)
And Linda, this is the first time I’ve heard She Wants Revenge, although I’ve shelved their cds for a couple of years. Damn cool song.
I heart Amy Rigby, marcy, so thanks for playing this song. Everyone needs to love a butter knife at least once in a lifetime!

Linda I’ve never heard them before either but really really like that song. Also the video for ‘Good Weekend’ is well worth a lookout if you get the chance.

ooohhhh, i feel all hot under the collar, what was that funny noise you were making Tim? You really do have a soft spot for betty, you’ve played her before right?
And yes, i agree that She wants revenge are rather good, never heard of em either. I thought it was Interpol at 1st. Dirk, your intro made me laugh, also my boss was talking to me when i had one of my head phones in, she asked me what that moaning was and i told her what you said, hee hee !!!
Good work peeps !!!

Ross … I have no idea what you mean. Mr Letch was making his Kenneth Connor meets Bill Hicks Devil impression noise (that he always makes when he sees a lady he likes apparently). The sound in the background was Mr Thrub rubbing the front of his thighs … vigourosly. It disturbed me quite a lot.
It IS my second play for BB! I had to pick my track in a hurry so it was a sort of knee jerk reaction … well … some kind of jerk anyway.
:)

I’m still shocked nobody played ‘doing the do’ for the tea for two podcast.

Tim - this conversation could go down hill very quickly, so i’m just gonna say, thanks for your explanation, things are much clearer, hee hee !!
Did anyone else think that my Prince song was rediculous, the bit near the end when he has that conversation about sex and lust, it always makes me laugh, i don’t know why.
By Ross on 11.01.07 4:18 pm
Rubbing of the thighs is a long-established and perfectly acceptable sign of admiration among certain aboriginal peoples. I read it in a 1972 issue of National Geographic, one that had lots of pictures of women with straining puppies.

i happened to listen to this while exercising at work–i warned them all that i might start laughing out loud and not to worry, and i have to admit it was a little bit weird listening to this with all these people around. but when dirk’s intro/song came on, i had to leave the room! sacred loser, that was too much! : )
ross–funny thing about that song is how dated it sounded, and at the time it was SO outrageous. times change, i guess!

My daughter said my intro was “gross,” which just proves my point. LOL
By Linda on 11.04.07 5:51 pm
Nat, just now I found the time to listen to the Undisputed Truth and I agree it really might be a near match: awesome track, thanks for pointing me to it!
And Ross and Marcy: I honestly do hope your jobs are still save and that I didn’t put you into too much trouble with my intro. But for safety sake you should tell your superiors that there are six more sins to come …. so be prepared *smile* ….
Take care,
