092 Festive 50 (part 3)

Here, after much anticipation, are the tracks that the Contrast Podcast listeners and contributors voted to be their favourites of 2007. I’d recommend downloading and listening to the episode rather than panning down this page and spoiling the surprise!

Thanks to all of you who helped to make this and the other festive 50 episodes possible. I have just one festive fifty duty left to perform and that is to announce that the three winners of the Titties Remix EPs (pulled at random from an empty Quality Street tin) are Brian Stoos, Dirk from Sexy Loser and Matthew from Song by Toad. I’ll be in touch soon to ask where to send them!

Next week we will be starting off 2008 with an episode dedicated to Letters and Postcards. If you would like to take part and aren’t sure what to do you will find some useful instructions here.

here’s my postcard, a short letter :
happy new year everyone !

What a pleasant surprise in at #1!

Great efforts by everyone. I look forward to all of your CP songs in 2008!
(and keep ’em coming to those who we heard for the first time in the Festive 50!)

Happy New Year everyone.

So how pleased was I that something so good got to be number one in the festive 50? I was a pleased as a very pleased person who had just graduated from a degree in being pleased with first class honours. What did you all think??

What a blast!! Tim: once again I want to say ‘thank you’ for all the great work you had in compiling this awesome list! But it was worth every second of it, that’s for sure. Astonishing how very few songs I knew before and I can only promise to do better in 2008 and listen to more ‘new’ bands …. happy new year to all of you: take good care of yourselves in 2008!

Great work, Tim! Not only is it nice to have such a collection of songs in one place, but they all hang together so much better than you might imagine. I suppose that’s the point, though, right? Happy New Year all!

I meant 19 not seven months….

it was last june when I first heard the track. sorry guys! Great work everyone – those are some damn sexy intros.
