Wow. The Byrds, The Cure, Nick Lowe and the Anniversary were all on my list of possible submissions. Glad they still made it to the podcast!

A fine, fine anniversary. Congrats and thanks to Tim for bringing us all together every week!
Happy 100 to my fellow CP’ers!

I was thinking of 100% too. I wish ‘I’m amazed’ was a few seconds shorter, I prefer that to Oh My Golly.

Marcy- You played NOFX. That’s pretty freakin…no wait…it’s NOFX….FUCKIN awesome! You’re just full of surprises!
Andy - You were right. This was an amazing episode full of everything that makes the CP so contrasty!
Queen Elizabeth - Good Call on the Sharon Jones! You’re quite “with it”, as the kids say these days.

Can I just apologise for the fact that my selection doesn’t reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally fit with the theme, but fits with my intro which fits with the theme - flimsy of me… Still, hats off (to Harper) for a triffic song anyway….
By Stuart on 02.27.08 7:06 pm
Stuart - Your choice was inspired and fitted in perfectly. Besides, isn’t it the case that the beauty of CP is that contributers are free to interpret the theme as they best see fit…??
No Sonic Youth and no Haircut 100 - proof I think that we’re all trying very hard to go beyond the obvious.
We also had it confirmed this week that Matthew’s accent is indeed far posher than hermaj.
And as for you Marcy…here’s me worrying myself about whether to send CDs with innapropriate languge in the songs to your duaghter and you come up with this week’s X-cert contribution.
I’m living and learning with every contribution..

I was thinking of going with 100% by Sonic Youth but the lyrics were too much of a downer.
By Bob on 02.28.08 2:12 am
Bob, I thought EXACTLY the same thing!!
By FiL on 02.28.08 2:43 am
who knew nofx would be such a hit?
this was a really good podcast, from betty’s marvelously apt and inspired intro to stuart’s. (when i first saw the lineup, i was like, who’s betty?)
some really great songs, as well. i loved the fun 100, the soundtrack of our lives, maxi priest, shout out louds, the divine comedy, and that roy harper song. actually, there wasn’t a bad song in this week’s episode!
jc–no worries on the profanity front. she’s heard it all from yours truly!
stuart–there’s only one rule at the contrast podcast–never apologize for your pick! we have all stretched the theme limits beyond recognition from time to time, and like jc says, that’s the beauty of this gem we call the cp.

Yeah FIL, totally. Nothing says “Congratulations!” like a song about a dead friend.
