For this podcast Eiron from A Blog of No Importance has challenged the Contrast community to find pairs of songs that share their title but are otherwise unrelated. Oh what fun!

I have to laugh because I didn’t understand the Snap! concept until Eiron explained it here. I feel so DUMB!

Oh crap, i understand now..what a good idea ! ha..i spent ages looking for a song with snap in the title…the only thing i could think of was the dance band SNAP…I’ve got the power !! Rhythm Is a Dancer etc…but those songs would av been too much for all yee CPers to bare…can’t wait to listen

Yeah. I was always one for the high-concept, complex ideas that need explaining before they made sense. This is why my radio show was unlike any other. We had such bizarre rules to compiling the music that a huge part of the fun for us was just trying to find enough music to satisfy the constraints for any given week, plus keep in mind the various music-based features we had. In the end the shows started compiling themselves, mostly because the rules would not allow deviation from a very specific playlist. I enjoyed that element of it all. I do miss that part of my life, though hope to get back to it one day.

arghh!!! i cannot get the damn thing to finish downloading!!! can you hear me screaming, tim?????

where is he, anyway? and when is he coming back to the northern hemisphere?

Crash, was that the Mad Professor dub of Massive Attack?? It’s certainly not the album version!

I have no idea where that version came form and, not for the first time, I suspect I simply wasn’t paying attention and sent the wrong version. At least it was the right song this time. My people tell me it’s the version on ‘No Protection’.

I just got back earlier today … but I’m not sure what day it is. Less than 24 hours ago I was on the pier at Manhattan Beach in LA. Now I’m in the cloudy UK … and it’s going to rain this weekend.

🙁

Why didn’t any of the ladies make a contribution this week??????

Probably avoiding the possibility of any easy “nice pair” jokes.

ha ha, you guys are so funny!

actually, i tried to make a contribution but by the time i’d made up my mind it was already full.

and can i have a “hell yeah, tim is back!” : )

Thank You Eiron….I was hoping someone would say something like that….

Yeah, it filled up quickly because of the double song entries, and I was kind of busy so I passed on this one so I could focus on the others. These selections are great. I love the two Evangelines, Brad! I have both of those, but I wouldn’t have thought of them.
