Yet another 60-odd minutes of quality.
Tim, I thought your intro was among your best ever…..and FiL, how much time and effort did it take to come up with this week’s work of genius???
I thought that I’d know all the songs this week, what with the theme title, but yet again I find myself discovering all sorts of new stuff.
I also dont think I could ever have predicted any of the songs selected this week - another incredibly eclectic selection rears its far fro ugly head. There cant be many places where you would get Julie London, Foo Fighters and Kanye West in one place….
Cheers pop-pickers.

Thanks JC.
:)
… and my opinion on the selection this week? It’s poptasticly fantastical! Not ‘arf!

I always like how everyone says ‘number ones are just terrible, bound to be’ and then everyone pulls something winning out of the hat. Except Mark, obviously, but for a good reason. I’m very pleased somebody thought to play ‘piss on you’.

Mark’s song was HILARIOUS, I thought…
I think, in honor of Greer’s amazing talent, we should have a “Songs with subject matter you’d think about while juggling fire” episode. Who’s in?

“Songs with subject matter you’d think about while juggling fire” Count Me In!!!
By jc on 05.14.08 2:43 pm
Absolutely, i’m there.

I’m up for it! I’m up for anything!!!
By FiL on 05.14.08 4:43 pm
i don’t know why that comment came out as ‘crash’ i thought she was dead. sorry.
By adam on 05.14.08 8:46 pm
I loved this episode, I was laughing almost all the way through. You guys are great.
And may I ask a probably dumb question? Adam, are you Crash then, or connected with the blog Pretending Life Is Like A Song? I used to read that blog and now it seems password protected? My apologies if I am way off base… it just occurred to me as I read through the comments.

Hi Greer, yeah, that’s me. i’ll reopen the blog a bit later in the summer, I think, although I’m not really sure. i’m in the middle of sorting out all sorts of home things and if i was blogging it would all be coming out there, which seems like a bad idea. i think i can hold my sensible head together enough to carry on playing here.
By adam on 05.14.08 11:01 pm
I get that. I did enjoy your blog and I’ll be happy if you open it up again. I remember you had a few lines from ‘A Solid Bond In Your Heart’ in the sidebar, right? I’m a huge Style Council fan
. Anyway, nice to have found you here.

all the funnest bloggers eventually find their way to the contrast podcast . . .
i thought my rationale for picking a song was too off target this week, so i didn’t contribute, but it seems i would have fit right in with some of the other non-number-one-number-one picks!
great show!

I was wondering where you were!
About the fire juggling, was not at liberty to discuss it earlier due to a last bit of pending legal paperwork with my (former) neighbor. Now that it’s all sorted I can tell you- without any admission of guilt- that it is probably best not to think about music at all whilst juggling fire. That said, if you guys want to, I am totally in.

Er, I finally finished listening to the fantastic episode 110 and have posted a few words about it in its comment box, should anyone care to have a gander. Now my goal is to listen to episode 111 before 112 is released…

All The Records On The Radio Are Shite.
There I said it.
By b o b on 05.22.08 8:09 pm
Uhhh… my statement above is a link to a blog with a song entitled “All The Records On The Radio Are Shite” by recording artists Ballboy.
