I’m glad to see Molly’s Lips and Cherry Lips were chosen. Those are probably my two favorite Lips songs.

Then of course there is Sun Lips… http://www.blackmothsuperrainbow.com/black_moth_super_rainbow-sun_lips.mp3

What?? No Beautiful South “Lips”? I knew I shoulda sent in a submission!

Tim! That was the song I was going to submit when I discovered the other one! Wow!

I thought this was a great episode. Loved Prince, Ween, Esther Phillips, The Vaselines. Everything was so good!

I thought I’d see at least a cover version of that old Go-Go’s tune! I shall be listening shortly, but I’m thrill to see Flaming Lips up there!

Another great episode, with top marks going to JC for his inspired choice of Prince. I was taking a leaf out of Marcy’s book and listening on the treadmill but I was at home and there wasn’t anyone around to hear me laughing! Will have to make sure I run while I’m listening every week - it kept me going for an extra two k’s and that is always a good thing!

I also liked the Archie Bronson Outfit and Esther Phillips. Very good!

Loved Louis Prima and Esther Phillips, and, well, all of it really again. And James - slapping and howling wind belonged in FiL’s intro, surely?

You know Adam, I think the siding started to come off the around the same time as the debut of FiLip-p-p-p-pe. Coincidence? I think not.

This was great from start to finish! I liked every song and thought that Prince and The Shins were especially wonderful choices. I’ve always loved that line ‘you’ve got someone coming round/gluing tinsel to your crown’.

And James, I actually have a couple Ruth Brown records but I had absolutely no idea she was the great Rakim’s auntie. That is amazing- small world indeed!

Awesome Blog!

I am all over that Funny Little Dream tune. Loved it. I also really enjoyed the Lucia Popp. Très Contrasty.

am i the only person who’s disturbed by that picture? it really creeps me out for some reason. :0

Marcy, I think it is because the guy’s lips look like they grow out of an orange or a sponge.

Have been thinking that myself all week! Definitely a creepy pic.

tricia–how can you tell which is the guy?

agnes–it’s almost as bad as when i look at a picture of a snake. i have to look away!

I do fink it is two girls. Mmmmmmm.

;)

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. :-) Just got to get some pore reduction product to that right chin’s owner.

that was my guess, as well. however, it’s the other set of lips that bother me even more!

(tim, you dog, you!) ;-)
