Did anyone else hear Mr Toad’s pussy in his intro?
:)
By Tim on 04.01.09 10:18 am
i did!
By mjrc on 04.01.09 2:48 pm
I did too
Pieter- Great NOFX track. Right before you said what you were playing, I thought you were going to play a song I considered submitting: “We Poured Gasoline on the Fire and Now We Have Stumps For Arms and No Eyebrows” but I love “Thalidomide Child”!
And FiL played the song I was talking about! Woohoo!
This was such a great episode!

These songs are so beautiful. Thanks JC and FiL for Idlewild and Frightened Rabbits. I considered both of those too. Yes, I heard Mr. Toad’s kitty too–has a voice like one of mine.
Greer–I meant to congratulate you last week on your new baby. Holding a baby is one of arms’ greatest tasks.
Eiron–I really like that Inlets song. I never heard them before. Same with Tricia’s Hotels. Thanks for the introductions.

Pleased to see Frightened Rabbit in here…I actually recored an intro for that song as well as Idlewild, but thought by the time I got round to making the submission that someone would have beaten me to it. Call it instict.
I should point out that in way is that Toad’s pussy….there was a posting he put up ages ago (sadly no longer available after he switched ISPs) in which he made it very clear that the cat hated him and was very much a creature attached to the wonderful Mrs Toad. It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever read…
Will get round to listening to the podcast at the weekend. That’s after I get to see Frightened Rabbit play live this coming Friday…in the company not only of Mrs JC but Mr & Mrs Toad!!
This looks like a belter of a podcast…

Sorry…I had to listen quickly to FiL to see what he was doing to one of my favourite songs.
I’ve one question…is it a joint intro with ZB???
By jc on 04.01.09 10:38 pm
i got a little frightened by fil’s intro . . .
jc, i am almost as jealous of you and the toads as i was when fil, colin and juan saw fr in seattle. hope you have a blast!
i especially liked that ronnie spector song, mr. in crowd. thanks for that.
and linda, it took me until the very end of your intro to figure out who was talking. love your accent, whatever it was!
By mjrc on 04.02.09 5:04 pm
I have no idea what that accent is either–Countess Dracula? It’s just what came out of my mouth when I started recording. Then I thought, “How can I identify this as my intro?” and tacked on the other little thingy.

This is the first time in a long time that I’ve loved EVERY SINGLE SONG in the cast. Awesome tunes. Standout for me:Two Hours Traffic.
Great job, everyone!

Nat: I wonder if that’s anything to do with the fact that my contribution was something relatively normal (and yes, I like it too). Don’t worry; normal service resumes next week. I understand Inlets’ free EP to be worth checking out, so here’s some hot link action.

Eiron: Hey, what makes you think I don’t enjoy your submissions? I have liked quite a few!
By nat on 04.03.09 2:03 pm
I joke. A little. I know I can throw the occasional curve ball. And also the odd splitter. Wii Sports taught me all I know about baseball.
By Eiron Page on 04.03.09 5:13 pm
Wii baseball! Is there Wii cricket? I could learn how to play!
(but I’ll never, ever understand soccer or lacrosse!)
By nat on 04.03.09 11:08 pm
There are Wii cricket games. I decided to get rid of my Wii, though. It just wasn’t getting used. I decided on the Xbox360 instead. It is far less of a social machine. You don’t need friends or family to play it with, as you too often did with those games for the Wii.

Tim-I love that photo that you chose. My hands would be useless without my arms. So great.
By Tricia on 04.05.09 3:50 pm
Great podcast, friends … and to J.C.: thanks very much for your nice words, mate: highly appreciated!
By Dirk on 04.06.09 7:10 am
Thanks for including me in your intro Matthew! It is a top song, and I’m glad it made it in there in the end. The Doug Anthony Allstars were pretty filthy tis true, but they always did that song beautifully I thought. Hunters and Collectors sang it originally.
Well done to everybody else also, this one was a ripper!
