I’d like to say thanks to Tim for piecing together my bits of intro after yet further computer-related calamities befell me yesterday on what was to be my get-everything-Contrasty-done-in-one-day day. Diligence, a positive frame of mind and a whole day spent watching installers and I’m back.

Welcome back, Eiron!

This episode was particularly funky, I must say. Lots of fun :)

A few thoughts:

Every time Chuck D. Said “Yes!” on The In Crowd’s contribution, I started to mouth “The rhythm, the rebel” which is the next part of the sampled song. Interesting how we’re conditioned to things like that. I loved that track, In Crowd!

I’m glad you submitted that song, Tricia, because when I was trying to come up with a submission, all i could think was “Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes…” :)

Adam - Excellent choice.

And finally, I loved the bookendedness of this CP. Well done, Tim!

And great job everyone!

Yes, this one’s wonderful!

That Pointer Sisters track is AMAZING!!

Unfortunately I was paralysed by indecision this week - couldn’t decide on a track or a way of introducing it.
Here’s some bonus ‘yes’ for you though - Yes, It’s You by Sweet Charles.

And James, you do know that’s an old Georgie Fame song?

Next week’s podcast is going to be tough listening for me, I’ve had a bit of a siren phobia ever since in the 80s when there was a nuclear warning siren right opposite the house where I lived, which was often randomly tested without any prior “hey, don’t worry, this isn’t for real” notice…!

i’m having a tough time even thinking of a song with a siren in it!

this was a fun ‘cast! those pointer sisters really brought back some memories. they could really sing.

yes indeed, this was a very contrasty episode! : )

Marcy, I can’t get your song out of my head. It is incredibly addictive.

Oh yes, too, to The In Crowd’s tune.

FiL I was all confused during your intro, but clarity arrived when I read the songlist. Most excellent.

And “I Will” was so perfect. It really is high on the romantic songs pile.

And Tim, what a great ending to the podcast. Fun fun!!

tricia–it is incredibly catchy, isn’t it? : )

i forgot to say how cool it was how tim followed your extremely wordy song with an instrumental. he’s definitely the master at this editing thing he does!

and it made me want to watch chicago again just to see richard gere do his thing . . .

“Buster, buster… blockbuster.”

Eiron! No! *slaps him on nose with rolled up newspaper*

I’m hoping that my ipod will be fixed by next weekend and I can then catch up on about the last five shows.

Don’t worry. I’m sure what I’ve got on offer for tomorrow’s cast is far more horrid than anyone could possibly imagine. So, it isn’t that.

We’ve got to wait a whole day, Eiron? I’m just having a hard time thinking of you offering anything horrid. Technical, maybe. A little strange, perhaps….

Well, this podcast I submitted music that samples pornography. Let’s see where I take things on the next ‘cast.
