Oops, sorry Tim! It’s “Devils Tower” no apostrope, which makes it even more fucked up. Like there a tower full up of devils? Eeek. Don’t go there, xoxo

For help with next week, here’s a handy glossary of darts terms.
By Eiron Page on 09.01.09 7:42 pm
Thanks for the glossary link, Eiron!
I’m not sure yet if it’s helpful or not, but it provides some great song titles, whether they truly exist or not…
Who can forget such timeless classics as ‘Ton of Nails’ or ‘Diddle For The Middle’?
‘Destiny Bull’ - - Wasn’t that by Emerson, Lake & Palmer?
Darts. This will be interesting…
By The In Crowd on 09.01.09 9:39 pm
i’m not gonna lie, i’ve had to go searching for dart songs because zero turned up in my library search. that said, that glossary list is awesome!
i liked a lot of these songs this week, great job, everyone. i bet we could do two or three more of them and not run out of places we’ve never been to . . .
By mjrc on 09.01.09 10:01 pm
I have Bruce Cockburn’s “Dart to the Heart” album, but I’m not sure if I’m going to use it.
Hey, do Jarts count?
By nat on 09.02.09 12:11 am
Ok, I liked The Delvins song and the chill medley of the last two songs, but I have to use this comment box for mostly one thing.
ADAM! YOU PLAYED SAN DIMAS! oh. my. god. chills. just, chills. that song was my gateway drug into the whole pop-punk scene. without that song, i wouldn’t know who the descendents or the ramones or the clash or nofx or anyone was! my mom’s high school was the place where they filmed bill and ted’s excellent adventure (home of san dimas high school) and…yeah. i thought i’d heard you wrong when you said “The Ataris”. Thank you Adam. Thank you.

Ahem.
Um, my own outbursts aside, I thought this was a fantastic episode! Like I said, I really enjoyed the Devlins, and the Loch Ness Mouse, and the Bicycles.

My favorite Low song! Woot!
By nat on 09.02.09 9:11 pm
Robert, perhaps that photo on the mug isn’t a president, but that of Ben Franklin? (Never pres., but quite an important man in our history!)
By nat on 09.02.09 9:23 pm
And maybe that’s independence hall?
By James! on 09.02.09 11:52 pm
John! That’s gotta be the shortest intro ever! [nope, I take it back, Tim from FOT beat ya, omg!] Robert, your song was genius! Tricia I’m jealous of your trip to Japan. We went one summer and it was so wonderful.
FiL… all I can tell you is that my sweetie called out from the bathtub “Is that Miss Piggy you’re listening to? And if so, why???” …. LOL
By Tart on 09.03.09 12:46 am
oops, I cut myself short… sorry
Hahaha JC, you did the same as me, inserting a place you’d never want to go
Chris, you effectively reminded me that there’s simply not enough Zappa in my library, thanks. And ZB, the Flying Lizards were so cool!
By Tart on 09.03.09 12:47 am
robert–i think that’s the kimmel center you’re looking at. the kennedy center is in washington, d.c.
hey tim, did you put robert and me together because he’s irish (as are the devlins) and i live near philly?
By mjrc on 09.03.09 2:13 am
Tart … I’ve fixed that. Sorry!
Marcy … the way I choose the order for the songs is a closely guarded secret. Like the Colonel’s special spice combination or something.
By tim.young on 09.03.09 2:53 pm
damn, i thought i was on to something!
By mjrc on 09.04.09 2:41 am
Nat - Wikipedia tells me you’re right!
MJRC - You’re right, it’s the kimmel centre after all, not sure how the kennedy centre got into my mind,
good work folks,

By Robert on 09.04.09 11:00 pm
Oh don’t be sorry, Tim… that damn Ice Palace guy, he likes to fuck with our brain. You can tell by lookin at him, he does! Nice man tho, nothing against him.. but he’s wicked, I know it!
By Tart on 09.05.09 6:05 am
One day the secret will out! No MSG in the CP, I hope…
By christophosphorous on 09.05.09 11:42 am
Hmm. I don’t believe that recipe of Mr Douglas to be correct. I’m more inclined to go with the following:
In his book “Big Secrets,” William Poundstone revealed a laboratory analysis of Kentucky Fried Chicken: “The sample of coating mix was found to contain four and only four ingredients: flour, salt, monosodium glutamate, and black pepper. There were no eleven herbs and spices — no herbs at all in fact… Nothing was found in the sample that couldn’t be identified.” So much for the “secret.” In fact, the chicken’s ingredient statement is available on KFC’s Web site.
By Eiron Page on 09.05.09 8:33 pm
Original Recipe® Chicken Fresh Chicken Marinated with: Salt, Sodium Phosphate and Monosodium Glutamate. Breaded with: Wheat Flour, Sodium Chloride and Anti-caking agent (Tricalcium Phosphate), Nonfat Milk, Egg Whites, Colonel’s Secret Original Recipe Seasoning.(from the KFC website)
Nope, the seasoning is still secret.
By nat on 09.06.09 2:44 am
look what you started, tim!
By mjrc on 09.06.09 1:43 pm
I know! My secret is a real secret. Honestly!
As for the darts podcast .. it’s going to be Wednesday this week .. sorry!
By tim.young on 09.08.09 6:46 pm
