Good estimate JC! By my calculations, as of this episode, there have been 3214 submissions, give or take say 5 where people like Andy and me or Tim and FiL have shared a submission. Wow.

Um. This whole episode was great. From Kool Moe Dee to Peggy Lee. And it don’t stop.

It will be a couple more days before I get the chance to listen. But the fact we are concluding this episode with a song from the recently deceased Kate McGarrigle is a fabulous tribute…

Thanks Tim & Jeremy.

oh, this was a good one! i’d forgotten how really fantastic judy garland was. and that kate mcgarrigle song was devastating. and i know we’re all supposed to hate on glasvegas, but that’s a great song!

i can’t wait for next week. thanks, tim, for all you do. :)

Nobody tells me who to hate on! ;)

Tim……that was a cruel way to wake someone up who is suffering from a hangover.

How perfect that FiL commemorates ep200 with an intro that contains funny swearing and fart jokes. Comedy genius.

Eiron….I’m certain that information will come in useful one day at a pub quiz. Where the hell do you fit all of these facts into your amazing brain?

Greer - Kool Moe Dee and Treacherous Three….you managed to get in some poetry. And you sum it beautifully. CP is such a nice thing to be a part of.

Following on from Kevin’s intro….’Square Go’ is indeed the phrase used when a challenge was thrown down for a fight at school, pub or other public place. As in, ‘efter skool - you and me ya radge - square go’. or ‘hoi you ya prick, leave ma bird alane…pit yir drink doon and ootside noo for a square go.’ OK, so its not info on the scale or quality offered by Eiron, but dont say its not educational…

And that was a lovely intro and song Jeremy. Really really beautiful.

And Tim, it was not only fitting that Kate McGarrigle closed this episode, but followed on from Nick Cave. I’m not sure if everyone knows that she and her sister provided additional and backing vocals to the Bad Seeds LP ‘No More Shall We Part’ back in 2001.

This past hour really has been everything that is great about the CP. Stuff side-by-side that you never otherwise expect, many of which I would expect are new or unkonwn to most listeners without being obscure, difficult or self-indulgent.

Thank you one and all.

Thanks for the kind words re: the KM song. In my blue state I forgot however to say the nice things I meant to about the CP reaching 200. I haven’t been aboard very long so to me it doesn’t look a day over 20 or 30. :) I’ve grown in a short time to greatly look forward to each week’s journey. Thanks to the indefatigable Tim and thanks to everyone for being part of it.

In Crowd cracks me up as usual with a sharp intro.

Kev, love that song. Just don’t you be singing along with it too much. It’ll totally mess up your New Year resolution.

Happy 200th Tim!

I’m with JC- the beginning of Tim’s intro made me nervous :) .

But once I recovered I enjoyed the episode so much, and I agree that the ending was perfect. Can’t wait for part two.

Just had to admit that I never got the 200 and Go connection until listening. Not much of a game gal.

Also had to note that this is the second episode in the past year that had a mouse song. You’re killing me!

Can we have ‘Mice’ as a theme please Tim? Happy bicentenary everyone x

What a superb episode.
Firstly may I add my hearty congratulations to you, Tim, for your superb navigation over these last 3.83 years.
Secondly, thanks to Jeremy for his fabulous, eloquent tribute to the victims of Haiti and Kate McGarrigle.
To FiL, for yet again making the tears roll down my face.
To Kev for playing what was nearly my first pick.
And to JC for providing the “Square Go” explanation I would inevitably have provided with the intro for it, but also for playing yet another of my considerations. However, having picked a Nick Cave track a few weeks back, I felt that I had to rule that option out.
Can someone check the CP guidebook please and let me know what the permitted gap is before being allowed to use an artist twice?
And finally to all the other CP contributors in this episode (and all the other episodes) for keeping this great site so fresh.

Micky- Re: Using an artist twice: I would say use your best judgement. If it’s been a couple of months since you’ve played a song by an artist, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Yay, and once again Yay.

More great and sweet and poignant and fun.
Hurray all.

- - and Hey ZB! Thanks for the Bunker Hill! I have a history of forgetting about that gem. Now I finally have it pinned down.
