Woo hoo! Party!

I forgot Mos Def was on that Gorillaz track. Fantastic!

Yay! 🙂

I just called my netbook “motherfucking fucking fucker” cuz it ate my comment three times. I gave up and moved to the desktop!
This “bottom third” is often my favorite part of the FF, and this year is no exception. This part is packed with great stuff I missed last year or had overlooked because I don’t listen to some of these bands regularly. Bless you all for listening and listing these.
I’m especially fond of the Teenage Fanclub cut and the Phosphorescent and Cash tunes.
And I really need a Miley Cyrus bong now so I can pass it to marcy. 🙂

Johnny Cash and John Grant will definitely go on my list of songs of the year. A song I already pipped for the top was Warpaint- Undertow so I’m expecting great things from the next bunch of tunes.

don’t bogart that miley cyrus bong, nat!

this was full of wonderful selections and i think my absolute favorite song of the bunch is “el camino.” i’m old enough to remember them and get most (all?) of the cultural references in the song, and it was really funny!

@ James: I fell in love with Dessa late in the year too, and I am more surprised than anyone to find myself liking a rapper/hip-hop artist. My favorite is “Matches to Paperdolls.” I am really glad to see she made the CPF50!

Linda – I’m so happy to hear that! She put out a book of some of her writing and I ordered it with Christmas money and it just arrived today. She’s certainly not a typical hip hop artist!

That was fun! Found some new things to look into, too.

Just wanted to let you all know that I have a home in the blogosphere. Like I mentioned in the CP Sleeping episode, I’m singing in the kitchen at http://www.isinginthekitchen.com

Now can you all pass that Miley bong this way?
