029 2006 So Far (part 3)

It seems a long time since podcasts 06 & 07 where we first looked at the music we liked from this year. Several months and hundreds and hundreds of ear hours later it’s time to hear what’s new.

Thanks to all the contributors and the artists they recommended. If you liked something you heard take your love to their websites.

Next week’s theme, suggested by Amy from Shake Your Fist & Matt from Earfarm is a song that I like by a band that I don’t. To take part just follow the instructions on our brand spanking new and very very sparkly can I be on the podcast page.

Fil, you are NUTS! Love the intro!

I second that motion! You are setting the bar for fun intros, FiL.

Where are our “ands” anyway?

Hahaha good call Fil.
In other news, good pick Clever Titles - those guys are excellent.

And Tim, I love the artwork. Did you make it yourself? I don’t know that I’ve ever made artwork for my site discounting my header, which wasn’t very difficult. Just some colours and letters.

the party dream is awesome. what can i say? :)

oh my god!!! i’ve been infected!!! i need that poultice NOW!!!

too late–even the kenny g can’t save me . . . . aaaahhhhhh!!!!

I think what I enjoy most about the CP is that no matter the theme the contributions are never predictable, it is refreshing and I am proud to be a part of it.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful selections, you all never cease in surprising me. :)

Cheers!

Yes. Thanks everyone!

Matt .. yes I made the artwork myself … sometimes I steal from Flickr (and credit the photographer) or the internet and sometimes I create, just depends on how I’m feeling about the theme. I’m surprised that nobody commented on my montage from last week!

Yeah, nice intro, that Motorettes track is great, reminds me of idlewild. Never heard of Husky rescue but love it.
Good stuff
Peace to all !!!

Oh Gosh, next weeks theme is hard, gonna have to do some thinking. Interesting theme !!

Well, I must say I did not heed the advice of that nice man from SLIME and now, after listening to the podcast, I’m suffering from heatrash and multiple RSIs. But it hurts sooo good…

Dear SAS, Teddybears Stockholm’s to blame for most of the pain. Dang, that rocked and shimmied like a cuddly toy on powerful chemicals!!

Dearest Rachel, thank you for the dulcet smokiness of (the maaarvelously pronounced) Alif Tree. Very French-filmy.

Dearest Marcy, fret not, I think in this case the cure is worse than the disease…

BettySimon, that M Ward track was lovely, and the last line made my heart swell.

Bethanne, loved the track, but please tell the Mantera lads that Cher wants her vocoder back…

Mon Cher et Distingue Chief of Police, I beseech you to release ZB. I am sure he meant no harm. He is a perfect ambassador for all that is right and good in Ikhtonia.

Apologies for being long-winded, but it was a fantastic podcast - thanks to everyone, and especially Tim for his continued hard work and devotion!!

Props for best intro AND summary Fil - spreading pain was always top of the agenda for SASR. great podcast everyone - I’m glad these come up regularly as I miss so much that I can catch up with here. Thanks as ever too to Tim.

If you ever have the chance to see Gil Mantera’s Party Dream live, do so. I can’t even describe the campiness of what they do - it has to be seen to be believed. Fortunately, I live in the same city as the duo so I get to see them on a pretty regular basis.
